"They don't ask anything any more." The first book ends with a six-year-old who asks. This one begins with an eight-year-old who has stopped. The curiosity has not gone — it has moved to the best friend and onto a screen, to places the parent no longer has access to.
"I have to learn it from somewhere." The title is a sentence spoken by a twelve-year-old boy defending his right to watch pornography. He had a point — and that is exactly why the first two volumes are no longer enough at the age when the body, screens and first relationships come into play.
"Someone swapped my child." That is what exhausted parents say, almost word for word. Nobody has been swapped — it is exactly the same child restructuring, in a brain where the part that wants matures years ahead of the part that weighs things up.
"As if they can't see or hear us." At thirteen they collided with you; at sixteen they walk past, answer politely and leave. That was meant to happen. What has changed is the stakes — the first experience, contraception, alcohol, the law — and of all the levers, only one is left to you.

"Am I normal?" I don't feel anything. It ends too quickly. I don't reach orgasm. Under all of them is the same fear: that everyone else works differently. In the vast majority of cases there is no dysfunction — there is a comparison with a standard that does not come from medicine.
